About the Department


Staffing


The Coralville Fire Department is staffed with over 40 volunteers and 5 paid members.

The department averages:
  • 74,810 hours each year of on-duty volunteer staffing
  • 13.7 firefighters responding per structure fire 

Services


The department provides fire, medical, hazardous materials, and water rescue services for:
  • Coralville
  • North East Lucas Township
  • University of Iowa Research Park
The department also provides proactive prevention services such as site plan reviews and fire safety education, as well as local community projects. 

Firefighter Responsibilities

The Fire Department is staffed with and responsible for:
