City of Coralville Veterans Day Schedule


The City of Coralville will observe Veterans Day, which is Sunday, November 11 as follows:

City Offices

City Hall, the administrative offices of Fire and Police, along with the Parks, Water, Wastewater, Streets, and Sanitation Departments will be closed on Monday, November 12 in observance of Veterans Day

Recreation Center & Indoor Pool

The Recreation Center will be open normal business hours, 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, on Monday, November 12. The Indoor Pool will be open normal business hours on Monday, November 12. A detailed Indoor Pool schedule with lap swim and open swim times can be found at


The Library will be closed on Monday, November 12.

Bus Service

Bus service will run normal routes and schedules on Monday, November 12. 

In honor of Veteran’s Day, Coralville Transit will offer free rides to veterans and eligible veterans using ADA paratransit on Monday, November 12. Veterans will be asked to present their military ID when boarding the bus to receive a free ride. 

Trash & Recycling

Trash and recycling will be collected one day later than usual the week of Veteran’s Day (November 12 through November 16). Monday’s route will be picked up Tuesday; Tuesday’s route will be picked up Wednesday; Wednesday’s route will be picked up Thursday; and Thursday’s route will be picked up Friday.

The drop-off Recycling Center at 950 Hughes Street is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Monday, November 12.
